ML researchers, AI practitioners, and those interested in LLM capabilities and neural network interpretability
Researchers show frontier LLMs can directly read and write neural network weight arrays without conventional training.
In one test, an LLM wrote 122 lines of first-layer weights for a Pong-like game, encoding directional ball-paddle tracking logic. The LLM-authored weights scored a mean of 517.4, versus 15.8 and 25.3 for PPO baselines at 100M and 500M training steps.
