Casita is a pre-release, content-addressed object store for source code and build artifacts, distributed as a Rust library and CLI targeting Linux, macOS, and Windows.

It deduplicates immutable blobs and object records using BLAKE3 hashing and provides verification, synchronization, and garbage collection. It integrates experimentally with Cargo via an ArtifactStorage backend and is the first standalone layer split from Nix's ongoing Rust rewrite.
