Summary
FractalBits is an S3-compatible object storage system in beta, delivering up to 1 million 4K read IOPS per bucket with p99 latency of 5ms.
It uses a Fractal ART metadata engine for native atomic rename support on objects and directories, plus two-tier storage with NVMe SSD for hot small objects and S3 backend for large ones. Built in Rust with io_uring, it supports local development, Docker runs, and 5-minute AWS BYOC deployment at lower cost than AWS S3 Express One Zone.
